MINUTES OF LYDIARD TREGOZE PARISH COUNCIL, MONTHLY MEETING, HELD ON 3 APRIL 2023, AT 19:00, HOOK VILLAGE HALL

 

1  Present:

Vice-Chairman Cllr Rumming (Chairman for meeting), Cllr Drury, Cllr Strange, Cllr Luce, Cllr Henderson.

Rose Love – Clerk

 

Apologies:  Chairman Cllr Collis, Wiltshire Cllr S Bucknell

 

Absent:  Cllr Woolford

 

 

2  To approve the minutes of the last meeting held on Monday, 13 March 2023.

Proposed – Cllr Drury, Seconded – Cllr Strange

Resolved:  Approved.

 

 

3  To record declarations of interest from members regarding items on the agenda.

None

 

 

4  Clerk’s Report and Correspondence.#

5    Planning Applications to Consider

None at time of posting agenda

 

 

6    Highway/Roadwork/Parish Maintenance to Consider.

a.  Parish Steward dates: 11 April and 14 June.

Resolved:  Clerk to report potholes at East cattle grid, entrance to residential park and at War Memorial – all on Hook Street.

 

 

7    Other Business To Consider.

a.  Would the council support a Zoom presentation by WALC about the new National Emergency Alerts Toolkit?

Resolved:  Councillors will try to attend any presentation, if planned.

The government will nationally test the new Emergency Alerts System on 23rd April.

 

b.  Therapy dog home visits – possible donation request, and joint collaboration with RWB Town Council.

Resolved:  Council is interested in supporting.  The clerk will research is CIL money can be used.

 

c.  Coronation mugs – Cup style and Price approval (will determine number to be ordered).

Resolved:  Sixty (60) “Bone China” cups will be ordered, with option of 30 more to be ordered, if needed.  Cups will cost around £7 each.

 

d.  Coronation gathering food.

Resolved:  Cakes/biscuits, tea/coffee/juice, gluten free options, 1 sausage roll platter, 1 cheese/fruit/crackers platter.

 

 

8    Finance To Consider.

a.  Expenditures:

i.     LHFIG – council contribution for safety road signs at Salley Pussy entrance – £500.

Proposed – Cllr Henderson, Seconded – Cllr Luce.

Resolved:  Approved.

 

b.  Funding request from Wilts & Berks Canal Trust.

Resolved:  Not at this time.

 

c.  4th quarter financial report. – Tabled until May meeting.

Proposed – Cllr Drury, Seconded – Cllr Henderson.

Resolved:  Approved.

 

d.  Grass cutting agreement.

Resolved:  New prices have not been calculated yet.  Discussion will continue at May meeting.

 

 

9    Matters Arising for Next Meeting.

  • Grass cutting

With all business concluded, the meeting closed at 20:05.

 

 

Please attend the Annual Parish Meeting, Wednesday 26th April, 18:00-20:00 at Hook Village Hall.

 

Celebrate the King’s Coronation Party on Monday 8th May from 11:00 – 13:00 at Hook Village Hall.  Refreshments provided and Coronation mugs available for collection (ages 17 and under free) or purchase.  Stop in for mug collection or stay for socialising.
