MINUTES OF LYDIARD TREGOZE PARISH COUNCIL, ANNUAL PARISH MEETING, WEDNESDAY 6TH OCTOBER 2021 AT 18:00, HOOK VILLAGE HALL
- Welcome and Apologies for Absence:
Cllr Rumming, Cllr Woolford, Cllr Henderson, Cllr Luce, Cllr Strange, Cllr Drury (19:00).

- Report from the Parish Council
Vice-Chairman Rumming gave a short report detailing Parish Council activities in the last 12+ months, including the affects of Covid/Zoom meetings, Remembrance Sunday 2020, continued pursuit of defibrillator installation, CATG outcomes, and more.
- Council Issues/Projects for discussion/vote with the Electors
a. Potential council cemetery: Burial ground determined to be necessary, but will seek other options before pursuing the purchase of land. Council will inform Wiltshire Neighbourhood Plan of need, liaise with crematorium and surrounding parishes for alternate options.
b. Traffic/speeding issues: Information from new Police and Crime Commissioner Philip Wilkinson – One new officer added, bringing total for North area to three, and new speed cameras being purchased. Council will pursue volunteers for a community watch again. Must have two sets of two people to qualify.
c. Experimental bus scheme update: The original scheme had so much interest the planners decided to tender a larger bus. Possible plan to start service in January 2022.
d. Queen’s Jubilee celebration: Electorate decided a party on Jubilee weekend was the best option.
e. Pavement upgrade: Council currently has a request for safety upgrade to full length of pavement through Hook, especially area around M4 bridge, with Community Area Transport Group (CATG). Electorate wants investigation of path installation from Hook Street to Bolingbroke Arms. Council will make request to CATG.
Issues brought by electors during meeting:
f. Chase up cattle grid replacement with Wiltshire Highways.
g. The Meadows entrance: Bushes/visibility display overgrown and a danger for children when cars enter. Council will pursue matter with the parish steward.
