Even though public activities scheduled to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day have been cancelled due to Covid-19, we can still commemorate this day with safe social distancing.
Please decorate your windows, front doors, and/or building entrances in any design that inspires you and partake in a front garden picnic with neighbours! Take the opportunity to chat with neighbours and raise a glass in honour of our solidarity 75 years ago and today.
Individual streets or neighbourhoods may plan a start time that is best for most participants, if they wish. Otherwise, we suggest a start time around 1:30pm (weather permitting).
Please help safely spread the word of this event to as many neighbours/friends/family by calling, emailing or chatting to those you see when out on daily walks.
